If you were given the above information, how many could you recall?
Auditory memory is the ability to hold auditory information in immediate awareness while performing a mental operation. This processing skill is necessary for reading amongst other areas. Students may arrive unable to analyse number, sequence and sound. We play games using a variety of tools to improve the auditory memory which has a ripple effect on other learning areas as well.
We start where the student is at and build on the amount of information to recall as the student progresses. It’s one of the games we play with students to strengthen the essential building blocks required for learning. Do you have a pack of uno cards? Lay out 3 cards. Read them aloud and then turn them over. How many can you recall. Keep working on this until you’re able to recall the pack!!
There is a student on the Equipping Minds youtube page who is able to recall 50 Blink cards!! Watch it here
The initial commitment is 12 weeks. The research shows this length of time of intense learning has the biggest impact to improve learning in students. There are students who follow the curriculum for much longer and are thriving.
